Guided by voices

Tonight (Tuesday Feb 25) sees the launch of Other Voices, Songs From A Room – a 13-part miniseries presented by Frames frontman Glen Hansard that aims to celebrate "a group of artists who have emerged in Ireland over the past few years, whose unique defining characteristic is that they are independent of the traditional strictures imposed by the major record companies".

Filmed over 6 nights in the 200-year-old St James’ Church in Dingle, County Kerry, each show will feature a live performance from artists including Damien Rice, Nina Hynes, Damien Dempsey, Josh Ritter and Mark Geary amongst others.

The first episode features The Frames, and will be on the air at 9pm on Network 2. Stay tuned to hotpress.com over the next few weeks for sneak previews of future episodes.
