Grammy nomination for Irish producer
Irish producer Maggie Magee has scored a Grammy nomination for last year’s Brian Wilson’s Smile concert video.
Recorded on a sound stage in Burbank, California in September 2004, it was the fifth Wilson DVD that Magee and her long-time director friend, John Anderson, have worked on.
“I’m just so honoured to be part of Smile’s success, ” enthuses the Dubliner who splits her time between the States and Wicklow where she’s in the process of setting up her own production company.
Slugging it out with Smile in the ‘Best Long Form Video’ category are Bob Dylan’s No Direction Home, R. Kelly’s Trapped In The Closet, End Of The Century: The Ramones and Bruce Springsteen’s Devils And Dust.
Magee will find out if she has to deliver an acceptance speech on February 8 when the 48th Annual Grammy Awards take place in LA’s Staples Center.
