Gorillaz confirm new album next month
The band have also released a new music video for 'Humility' which starts Jack Black.
Gorillaz have announced that their new album The Now Now will be released on June 29.
To coincide with the news they released the music video for ‘Humility’ as well as making a new song 'Lake Zurich' available to stream.
School of Rock’s Jack Black stars in the music video alongside 2-D, the virtual frontman of the group.
Damon Albarn, the man behind Gorillaz, had been hinting that the group were set to release their 5th studio album but it has now been confirmed.
The Now Now may mark a different style for the group. Their most recent album Humanz came out last year and featured 24 official collaborators.
The new album only features appearances from Snoop Dogg, Jamie Principle and jazz guitarist George Benson, who plays on ‘Humility’.
The band, which consists of virtual members 2-D, Murdoch, Russel and Noodle, will play Malahide Castle on June 9 in what will be their biggest Irish gig to date. Support on the night will come from De La Soul, Little Simz and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble.
