MCD deny that Queens Of The Stone Age have cancelled their Slane appearance
MCD have scotched reports that the US rock gods Queens Of The Stone Age have cancelled their Slane appearance.
"That’s absolute rubbish," says MCD honcho Justin Green, when asked whether or not the rumour was true. "The Queens Of The Stone Age are definitely doing Slane. As for the rumour, I’ve no idea where it started."
The band are set to perform to the 80,000 strong crowd at Slane castle on August 23 alongside Feeder, Morcheeba, PJ Harvey, Foo Fighters and headliners Red Hot Chili Peppers in one of the strongest Slane line-ups for years.
The confusion may have arisen from the fact that Josh Homme and co will be touring as part of the Lollapalooza festival which is on the road in the States throughout July and August, and also features Incubus, Jane’s Addiction, The Donnas, Audioslave and Jurassic 5. The Queens have however opted out of the final leg of the tour to accommodate their European visit, with their place on the bill taken by A Perfect Circle.
