The Frames frontman has added another date at Vicar Street prompted by overwhelming demand.
Currently touring with Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder in Europe, Hansard is coming back to Vicar Street for two solo seated performances in August. The Irish singer-songwriter will play at the Vicar Street on August 15, following his fast-selling fully-seated solo gig on August 14.
Speaking with Hot Press about his second solo album Didn't He Ramble, the acclaimed singer spelt out the creative process of the making of his songs, “When you’re younger, miracles do just happen. You throw your head in the air and stuff does just come out and it is oftentimes wonderful,” he continues. “Whether it lasts or not is another question. So I decided to sit down and write these songs until they were watertight. And watertight doesn’t mean that they were clever, or smart, or correct, but that I meant them. Once I meant them, if I could sing the lyric with conviction, then it was right.”
The phenomenal Irish musician will be joined on stage by Una O’Kane, Katie O’Connor and Paula Hughes on strings, Joseph Doyle on bass and Ruth O’Mahony-Brady on keys. The details of the support act are yet to be released.
