Ghetto fabulous
Ronan Keating records a cover of the Elvis classic 'In The Ghetto' for War Child album
Ronan Keating is the latest musical luminary (after Elvis and Southpark’s Eric Cartman, natch) to record a version of the 1969 Presley megahit, ‘In The Ghetto’.
The track is to be featured on Hope – a compilation album which will benefit the War Child charity towards their work in Iraq.
The album is to feature exclusive tracks from the likes of Travis, Avril Lavigne (covering Dylan’s ‘Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door’), Paul McCartney, David Bowie, George Michael, Moby, New Order, Basement Jaxx, Spiritualized, The Charlatans, Tom McRae, Yusuf Islam (the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens) and Beth Orton, all of whom gave their time for free. Hope will be on sale nationwide from April 18.
