Frank Ocean releases ‘Moon River’ cover for all the lonely Valentiners
And loads of fans think it’s an original!
It was technically the 15th, treating Americans to the track at 2am, but Frank Ocean knew that there was probably plenty of people who could do with a pick-me-up after enduring a whole day of single status reminders. While beautiful, and everything you’d want from a Frank Ocean tune, it probably served as more of an emotional release for the day that was in it, because it’s dreadfully poignant.
The song, originally composed by Henry Mancini with lyrics by Johnny Mercer, was made famous by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's, unbeknownst to many of Ocean’s fanbase. YouTube comments and tweets alike thank Ocean for the surprise release of a new song, as they cross their fingers it’s a sign that an album is forthcoming.

Bare, vulnerable and heart-rending, this is miles better than some box of calories or cellophane-wrapped shrubbery. Which Frank did it better though? Ocean or Sinatra? Either way, it’s not us who’s crying. It’s you!
