Two have new albums ready to roll, and the other a band called The Shitty Shit Shitters!
In addition to his previously announced Death Disco Dublin slot at Buck Whaley’s on May 31, former Power Of Dreams man Craig Walker has confirmed further hometown shows in Whelan’s (June 19) and The Purty Loft (July 18).
“I’ve moved home to Dublin after 14 years in London, and I’m loving every minute of it,” Walker tells hotpress.com. “The place has changed so much – I’ve been putting a live band together, and ended up with a Mauritian drummer, a Spanish bass-player, a Finish guitarist and another guy who’s from Poland. No way would that have happened here in the ‘90s!”
Craig has his debut solo album, Siamese, ready to roll in France, Belgium and Switzerland on August 31.
“I’ve just signed a publishing deal with Universal, and hopefully that’ll result in an Irish release at around about the same time.”
Walker’s Whelan’s gig is in tandem with Whipping Boy leader Fearghal McKee.
“Fearghal has a new band called SSS, which I’m lead to believe stands for The Shitty Shit Shitters,” Craig laughs. “I’m assuming from that he hasn’t mellowed!”
Also returning to the fray on June 22 is ex-Hormones lead singer Marc Carroll who’s releasing his Dust Of Rumour album through High Noon. Previewing at marccarroll.com, it includes ‘Love Will Rule Our Hearts’, ‘Now Or Never’, ‘Always’, ‘Against My Will’, ‘The Boy Who Dreamed’, ‘You Just Might Be What I’ve Been Waiting For’, ‘Illusion And I’, ‘What’s Left Of My Heart’, ‘Going Home’ and ‘A Dark And Lucky Night’.
