Forbidden Fruit 2018: The Hot Press Speakeasy Returns
The Hot Press Speakeasy returns to Forbidden Fruit this year and will take place across all three days!
The Hot Press Speakeasy returns once again to Forbidden Fruit this year for another weekend of fun and frolics.
Just as the June Bank Holiday Weekend has grown to become synonymous with good music in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, so too has the Hot Press Speakeasy tent become synonymous with Forbidden Fruit.
A place to relax away from the main stages, the Speakeasy combines music and conversation, all within a chill-out environment. Over the course of the last six years, we’ve welcomed the likes of New Order, Nile Rodgers and The Flaming Lips to our sofas, all of whom have made compelling cases for why punters could stand to skip a few acts on the main stage and head to hear their favourite musicians wax with us about anything and everything.
In 2017, we embraced Forbidden Fruit’s ‘100% Irish Stage’ which focuses on the best and brightest acts from across the country, and invited in the likes of Soulé, Laoise, Rusangano Family, Ryan Vail and Tara Lee for some in-depth discussions about the current state of Irish music and why the future looks so exciting. We also chatted to those from further afield, including German house duo Booka Shade and Australian folktronica singer Gordi. From the comedy tent (sadly absent from the line-up this year!), we were cracking up with the likes of Joe Rooney and Andrew Stanley.
