Foo Fighters complete work on new album

The Foo Fighters have finished work on their eighth studio album, according to their producer, Butch Vig

An excited Vig took to twitter to announce the end of what sounds like a marathon effort.

We are officially done with the new Foo Fighters album. 23 straight days mixing! IT'S EPIC!!!

The LP will be the focus of a documentary on HBO, which followed frontman Dave Grohl on the journey across 8 US studios in recording the as-yet-untitled album.

In case the producer's promise of epic-ness isn't enough, Grohl himself has made similar noises in the past number of weeks. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he said: "We really had to step up what we do. The music is a progression or an evolution for sure, but it’s a Foo Fighters record.

"You’ll recognize Foo Fighters in this record but you’ll also be surprised by us. We’re doing things that we’ve never done before. Honestly, there are sections of songs that will really take you by surprise".

The months of hype are bound to only intensify from here; fans will have to wait until November for the album's release...
