Fontaines D.C. bring out pro-Palestine activist group onstage at Roskilde Festival
The message comes as Kneecap and Bob Vylan are under criminal investigation for their pro-Palestine comments at Glastonbury last weekend
Fontaines D.C. brought out a group of pro-Palestine activists during their slot at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark on Wednesday night.
With the Palestinian flag on screen behind them, a member of the activist group discussed the issue of media censorship surrounding certain musicians. “Avoid censorship from the media and talk about Palestine”, they said.
The activist group encouraged "Free Palestine" chants in both English and Arabic.

The group also applauded punk rap duo Bob Vylan for their support of Palestine at their Glastonbury set last weekend, where member Bobby Vylan chanted “death, death to the IDF”.
Elsewhere at Glastonbury, the BBC refused to live stream Kneecap's set, after member Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh (also known as Mo Chara) was charged with a terror offence for allegedly waving a Hezbollah flag at a concert last year.
Fontaines D.C. have already shown their support for Kneecap prior to the Roskilde Festival.
Last month, lead singer Grian Chattan described the terror investigation as a “witch hunt”, saying that he stands by their side and is “totally unafraid to do so.”
Fontaines D.C. and Kneecap are both set to perform at Finsbury Park, London, on July 5.
