Flying Lotus is Captain Murphy!

Just yesterday Hot Press brought you the latest video from the Brainfeeder boss, and now comes news of probably the least surprising unmasking of the year.

The enigmatic cartoon villain gave his first live performance in Los Angeles last night. The masked rapper took to the stage dressed in cape and cloak before revealing his true identity as Steven Ellison, thus bringing an end to weeks of speculation and calculated guesswork by fans of the mysterious rappers work. Odd Future members Tyler the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt had been two of the names linked with the project.

Captain Murphy dropped his debut mixtape earlier this week, followed by a downloadable deluxe edition soon after.
