Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham attacked
According to law enforcement, the "stalking" suspect threw an unknown substance at Buckingham before fleeing.
Fleetwood Mac's lead guitarist and co-vocalist Lindsey Buckingham has been attacked in Santa Monica.
76-year-old Buckingham was reportedly ambushed while walking into a building on Wednesday, April 1. The woman, who police described as a "stalking suspect," allegedly threw something on Buckingham and then ran away.
The law enforcement confirmed that they, along with Buckingham, are familiar with the woman due to previous incidents. An arrest is "expected soon," they added.
The musician was not injured in the incident.
Buckingham joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975 alongside his former bandmate and then-partner Stevie Nicks. The band's eleventh album, Rumours, has sold over 40 million copies and won two Grammys. The group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1979.
Last year, the duo reissued their 1973 album Buckingham Nicks, marking the first time the LP was made public since its original release.
In July, Both Buckingham and Nicks hinted at a reunion, with Nicks revealing that the pair were now back on "talking terms".
