Finalists confirmed for Tayto Song Contest
The ten finalists have been announced for the RTÉ 2FM Tayto Song Contest, which takes place on February 23 in Dublin’s Vicar St.
Hosted by The Café’s Laura Woods and Aidan Power, the young guns in question are:
Amie Grendon from Garristown, County Meath
Gary O’Neill from Clonsilla, Dublin
Bairbre Munnis from Dundrum, Dublin
Colm Tuite from Drogheda
Eileen O’Mahony from Castlemartyr, County Cork
Hannagh Hughes from Shankhill, County Dublin
Andy Kavanagh from Coolarty, County Longford
Pamela Connolly from Donaghmede, Dublin
Rachel Kelly from Foxrock, Dublin
Stephen Garrigar from Swords, County Dublin
The first prize is a whopping six days recording time in Dublin’s Pulse Studios and 500 professionally produced CDs.
The competition that provided the likes of Naimee Coleman, Laura Izibor and JoJo tunesmith Ruth-Anne Cunningham with their big breakthrough, its ’07 judges include Linda Martin, Louis Walsh, Jenny Huston, BellX1’s Dave Geraghty and HP’s Stuart Clark who’s only on board because he wants a year’s free supply of Cheese & Onion.
