Electric Picnic signs new partnership deal + tickets on sale in April
UK giants Festival Republic are coming on board
The Electric Picnic has signed a new partnership deal with Festival Republic which involves the buying out of Aiken Promotions’ interest in the boutique event, which returns to Stradbally from September 4 to 6.
“I have been a friend of John Reynolds for a long, long time and have been a fan of the Electric Picnic Festival since its inception,” enthuses the Managing Director of Festival Republic, Melvin Benn. “It’s Ireland’s version of Glastonbury as far as I’m concerned and has been a great inspiration to Latitude too. I’m very excited about partnering with John and his team to become part of it.”
Those sentiments are echoed by Reynolds who says: “I look forward to the new partnership with Melvin Benn and his team. I’ve worked with Melvin on a number of projects over the years and I really look up to him as festival promoter.”
Festival Republic, which is co-owned by Live Nation and Denis Desmond’s Gaiety Investments, has a portfolio, which also includes Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds.
This year’s Electric Picnic line-up will be announced at the start of April when tickets will also go on sale.
