Eleanor McEvoy wins Hi-Fi Album of 2002

Eleanor McEvoy scored a major coup last week when her Yola collection was adjudged to be 'Hi-Fi Album of 2002' at the Sound & Vision Show in Bristol.
Co-produced by McEvoy and Brian Connor, it's the first record to employ 'Super Audio' technology.
Said the judges: "Beautiful songs beautifully sung, and captured in a superb DSD recording that finally reveals the true potential of the Super Audio CD format. Ms McEvoy's emotive material, emphatic delivery and clear voice are the perfect ingredients for universal appeal, making this just the disc to expose hi-bit recordings to a wider non-audiophile audience."

Meanwhile, McEvoy joins Cara Dillon, Dolores Keane, Maura O'Connell and Mary Coughlan for Woman's Heart: A Decade On shows at the University Concert Hall, Limerick (April 2); Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny (3); Waterfront, Belfast (4); Goff's, Kildare (5); Royal Theatre, Castlebar (6); and Gaiety Theatre, Dublin (7 to 12).
