Markus Feehily and Demi Lovato gave him a run for his money.
He was denied by Keywest last week, but it's back to business as usual as Ed Sheeran sees his gazillion-selling X return to the summit of the Irish Albums Chart. After 70 weeks on the chart, it's hard to believe there are still people out there that don't have a copy of his second studio effort.
He sees off a spirited effort from Markus Feehily. The former Westlife man proves the boyband's fanbase is still very much with the singer, as his Fire enters at No. 2, outmuscling Demi Lovato's Confident, which pops up in third position.
Keywest's Joyland takes fourth, whilst another new entry in the form of Jamie Lawson's self-titled album rounds off the top 5. The first signing to Ed's Gingerbread Man label, it's further evidence that Mr. Sheeran really does have a monopoly on this pop game at the moment.
