Ed Sheeran divides the spoils for the Irish album charts
The folky popstar continues his reign over the chart.
In what is becoming less and less of a surprise, two of Ed sheeran's albums are in the top 10 Irish album chart.
His newest offering Divide takes the number 1 place, while his previous album X lies at a respectable number 4.
The remainder of the top 10 is populated by artists from the worlds of dance, rock and country, indicating that the singles audience can still be distinguished from the album market by a greater hunger for pop.
Notable among the positions is U2 with their 1987 classic The Joshua Tree, which owes its number 9 spot to its 20th anniversary.
Irish acts are prominent among the successes this week, with the Coronas in at number 3 with Trust The Wire, while Imelda May enters the top 10 at number 6 from number 11 last week.
Honorary Irishman Nathan Carter rounds it off at number 10 with Livin' The Dream.
