Dublin Gets New Urban Festival
The Roots, Chic, Mark Ronson, Jamie xx and Giorgio Moroder among first batch of acts announced for Metropolis
Billed as an "Music, Performance, Conversation, Installation" two-dayer, the inaugural Metropolis will take place in the Dublin RDS on November 7 and 8. A joint venture between John Reynolds' PoD Concerts who are responsible for Forbidden Fruit and Hidden Agenda, they're treating urban festival-goers to some wonderfully eclectic fare.
Early Bird Weekend Tickets priced €99.50 go on sale at 9am on Friday July 24.
Top of the bill are The Roots playing their first Dublin show for ten years; Nile Rodger's supreme disco act Chic; ace uptown funker Mark Ronson who's performing a DJ set; the red hot Jamie xx and 74-year-young electronic trailblazer Giorgio Moroder.
Joining them are Todd Terje, Kaytranada, Jeff Mills, Kerri Chandler, Kormac's Big Band, Cloud Castle Lake and the 100% live Tiga, KiNK, Marbou State, Dorian Concept, Matthew Herbert and Nosaj Thing.
And that's just for starters! Stay tuned to hotpress.com for Metropolis updates.
