Drumming up some support
Fergal Lawlor - fulltime job, tubthumper with The Cranberries - was just doing an old mate a favour when he played drums with Limerick next-big-things Headgear at last night's gig...
Fergal Lawlor took time out from recording the new Cranberries album to join fellow Shannonsiders Headgear on stage at The Village last night.
The majority of fans at the Dublin venue were blissfully unaware of his presence, with Ferg walking on unannounced half way through the set and then proceeding to hide behind an outsize drum-kit.
It was very much a favour for an old mate, with Headgear mainman Darragh Dukes' previous band, They Do It With Mirrors, giving the then Cranberry Saw Us some of their first supports.
Attended by a motley assortment of A&R types – we spotted Warners, Polydor and Sony – the gig was an absolute stormer.
