Taylor Swift has unveiled the music video for 'Opalite,' from her 2025 album, The Life of a Showgirl. Swift, who also directed the almost six-minute-long video, revealed the song was inspired by her fiancé, NFL player Travis Kelce, whose birthstone is the opal.
The video, which premiered on Spotify and Apple Music and is now available on YouTube, features a number of well-known faces, including Irish actors Domhnall Gleeson and Cillian Murphy.
Gleeson stars as the romantic interest to Swift. Murphy contributes a voiceover and appears on in-video billboards and advertisements.
Still from 'Opalite' music videoTalk show host Graham Norton is featured as a salesman, and the video incorporates clips from The Graham Norton Show at the end, showcasing the exchange between Swift, Gleeson, and Murphy that inspired the video. Other guests from that episode, Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi and actresses Greta Lee and Jodie Turner-Smith, also make appearances in the music video.
“The idea for the 'Opalite' music video crash landed into my imagination when I was doing promo for The Life of a Showgirl,” said Taylor Swift in an Intsagram statement. “I was a guest on one of my favorite shows, @TheGrahamNortonShowOfficial. When we were all talking during the broadcast, Domhnall made a light hearted joke about wanting to be in one of my music videos. He’s Irish! He was joking! Except that in that moment during the interview, I was instantly struck with an *idea*.”
Taylor Swift has also set a new Spotify record with the 'Opalite' music video. The video's release achieved the biggest single-day streaming performance for a music video on the platform. This makes Swift the first artist to hold the record for Spotify's largest streaming day across four categories: album, artist, song, and now, music video.
