David Geraghty track-listing + artwork
The countdown to his new album, The Victory Dance, starts here!
We thought you’d like this sneak peak at the artwork for Bell X1 man David Geraghty’s second solo album, The Victory Dance, which is released here on August 28 on Decal records.
“I spotted a clearing in the dense forest that is the Bell X1 tour machine”, Geraghty reveals, “so in June 2008, we retreated to a friends’ house in West Cork to begin recording. We ended up using the old barn beside the house, which had a great vibe and the added bonus of a colony of bats, who lent us their vocals on a number of tracks. I subsequently forgot to include the addendum that no bats were harmed in the making of the album. I’m sure it wasn’t an ‘FX first’! I can’t imagine that Meat Loaf hasn’t used bat noises on a number of his recordings!”
The full track-listing is ‘Tuesday’s Feet’, ‘Instant Sunshine’, ‘Soft Spot’, ‘Wear Out Your Name’, ‘Last Time Around’, ‘The Emperor’s Hand-Me-Downs’, ‘Stones’, ‘Change My Mind’ and ‘Falter’.
In addition to the live dates listed in the last issue of Hot Press, Geraghty also plays a free HMV Grafton Street instore at 6pm on Friday August 29. Dayjob wise, there’s the small matter of Bell X1 supporting U2 in Croke Park this Sunday.
