Damien Dempsey & Glen Hansard join protests
With the anti-water charges protests underway, Luke 'Ming' Flanagan tweets: "At last we have awoken. Stay awake. Nearly there."
Thousands are currently gathered outside Government Buildings in Dublin city centre to protest Irish Water.
The protest began at 1pm on Merrion Square, with marches from the Northside and Southside converging.
Among them are Oscar winner Glen Hansard, who claims he might possibly perform at the event, and Damien Dempsey. Meanwhile, Independent TD Clare Daly has told those assembled: "Irish Water is already dead. We're just here to bury it."
MEP Luke 'Ming' Flanagan, who posted the above photo, has said via Twitter: "At last we have awoken. Stay awake. Nearly there."
An in-depth interview with Flanagan will appear in the forthcoming Hot Press Annual.
