Listen to the new track below.
Barry Can’t Swim has released his new single ‘Dance Dance Dance.'
The French touch inspired track sees the artist "moving away from the club-adjacent sound of previous single ‘Return to Bhibo,'" according to a press release.
Real name Joshua Spence Mainnie, Barry Can’t Swim hails from Edinburgh, where he trained as a classical pianist at age 9 and played in local jazz bars as a teenager. As an adult, he moved to London where he launched his solo music career.
The electronic artist’s debut album, When Will We Land?, was released October 20, 2023 and shortlisted for the Mercury Prize. Since then, he's released a second album, Loner, and has signed with Atlantic Records. 'Dance Dance Dance' marks his second release with the label.
He’s been nominated for Best Dance Act at the Brit Awards, made a headline appearance at a sold-out show during All Points East in London and performed a live set at Electric Picnic last year.
He also made Hot Press’ Hot for 2024 list, described as “a mix of Moby and Fred Again… Fans have gone overboard in their appreciation – taking to turning up at his gigs hefting life rafts.”
