Irish Midlanders Cronin release new single and video following the legendary Beatle's old haunt out West.
Cronin have released their latest single 'Octopussy' a cover of the indie rock classic.
The single is available to stream and download via Live Transmissions Records' Soundcloud page.
The band's debut album First Kiss Of Love is due out in mid July.
The video was filmed on Dorinish Island off the West coast of Mayo. The island was purchased by John Lennon in 1967 for £1,700. It acted as a private getaway for Lennon and his family until he divorced from his first wife Cynthia in November 1968.
After lying unused for some time Lennon asked "King of the Hippies" Sid Rawle to create a commune on the island in 1970. This venture proved short lived however as a fire in one of the supply tents in 1972 led to a total abandonment of the site. Yoko Ono sold the island for nearly £30,000 following Lennon's death and donated the money to an orphanage.
Cronin recently journeyed to the island to follow in Lennon's and his family's footsteps and the footage the capture there forms the bulk of the video.
The track 'Octopussy' was originally released by Leeds guitar rockers, The Wedding Present's in 1991.
The band's next Irish gig is at the Dunmore East Festival of Food, Fish and Fun on Friday June 24.
