Courtney Barnett returns with new album Things Take Time, Take Time, releases single
The news comes with a fresh new music video from the singer-songwriter.
Australian indie rocker Courtney Barnett has announced a new album to be released on November 12, Things Take Time, Take Time.
The record will be the eagerly anticipated follow-up to her 2018 effort Tell Me How You Really Feel, the second album from the guitarist known for her deadpan vocal delivery aside buzzing guitars.
It comes with a new single from Barnett, 'Rae Street, which will be on the forthcoming album.
The music video features her strumming an acoustic guitar in a house alone, while looking out onto a suburban street of lookalikes.
Its lyrics include her trademark melancholic yearning, highlighted by the lines:
"Well time is money and money is no man’s friend. And all eyes on the pavement, I’m not gonna touch ya don’t worry so much about it. I’m just waiting for the day to become night."
Hot Press were at the last gig she played in Ireland, with Michael Kealy giving her show at The Olympia Theatre it a rave review.
"Courtney Barnett is a rock star on her own terms," he wrote.
"Put on a pedestal, she certainly didn’t disappoint. There is a distinct confidence to her vulnerability, making her one of the most important figures in rock music today."
