CMAT has released the second song from her upcoming album EURO-COUNTRY.
Speaking about 'Take A Sexy Picture of Me', the Irish singer-songwriter who shot to fame in 2022 with her debut record If My Wife New I'd Be Dead, said the track addresses the scrutiny women face online and that it was inspired by her personal experiences with public criticism.
"With the internet, every woman is now in the public eye. And no matter who you are, or what you look like, somebody will take umbrage with the fact that you even exist, and there's no escaping it."
She added that the "song is me calling out anyone who criticised my weight or how I looked… and it’s one of the best songs I've ever made."
The track was released alongside a music video starring King Frankie and Love/Hate actor Peter Coonan, who also featured in CMAT's recent single 'Running/Planning'.

EURO-COUNTRY, which is set for release on August 29 via AWAL Recordings, follows her 2023 album Crazymad, For Me, which earned widespread critical acclaim as well as nominations for BRIT, Mercury Prize, Ivor Novello, and Choice Music Prize awards.
The new album was recorded in New York and co-produced with long-time collaborator Oli Deakin.
"I felt halfway through recording it was the most important record I’ve made for myself… mainly because it was making me go crazy," said CMAT.
Her upcoming tour has several sold-out dates, including Dublin’s 3 Arena and O2 Academy Brixton, alongside major festival slots at Primavera, Glastonbury, All Together Now and Wide Awake.
