Ciara Lawless announces sophomore album, Divine Intervention
The Roscommon singer is set to release her second album through Human Angel Records.
Irish singer-songwriter Ciara Lawless has announced her sophomore album, Divine Intervention, which is set to release on May 2.
Inspired by a childhood accident which left the singer unable to walk for six months, the record reflects Lawless' belief "that we are all connected and with the power of people, a strong belief and blind faith we can achieve anything."
"The album is fresh and new, but using an 80s-inspired palette, it feels familiar and timeless," Lawless said.
In February, the singer released Divine Intervention's first single, 'Dreams', which was shortly followed in March by 'Running'. The record's focus single, 'Unbreakable', is expected to release in the near future.
Divine Intervention is a follow up to her debut LP Paint My Soul, which launched in April last year. She has won several singing competitions, both nationally and internationally, and has built up a reputation as a dynamic live performer.
Originally considering becoming a nun, Lawless trained in classical music and opera at Tullamore's Academy of Music. First working as a funeral singer, she released her first single, 'Half The Man', in 2023.
