Chris Brokaw and Matthew Nolan to host evening exploring the silent films of Peter Hutton
The IFI will present the screening of 'Stories From The Half Light: The Stories of Peter Hutton', following a successful event the previous year also regarding Hutton's work.
Boston guitarist / composer Chris Brokaw and Dublin guitarist / composer Matthew Nolan will host a screening of 'Stores From The Half Light: The Stories of Peter Hutton' at the Irish Film Institute on Wednesday, the 16th of May.
The screening last year was hugely popular and has called for a repeat event followed by live music and a Q&A with Brokaw and Nolan.
Shot on 16mm film, the production explores the work of silent filmmaker Peter Hutton who created series of short black and white films which focused on urban and rural landscapes. Describing the watching process as "a little like daydreaming", this has left room for exploration within his work to this day. Hutton's work will be contrasted with a number of other short productions, mastered by Brokaw and Nolan too.
You can visit the IFI website for further information on the screening.
