Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl album release party hits Irish cinemas this weekend

Taylor Swift has announced a special cinema event to celebrate the release of her new album The Life of a Showgirl out on October 3.

Taking place in cinemas across Ireland from October 3 to 5, the release party will feature the world premiere of the music video for 'The Fate of Ophelia', exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot, brand-new lyric videos, and never-before-seen personal reflections from Swift on the album's songs.

“Looks like it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan… Dancing is optional but very much encouraged,” Swift wrote on Instagram.

This marks the singer’s 12th studio album and her first project since she gained ownership of her masters in May.

Her previous release, The Tortured Poets Department, earned two Grammy nominations and was the best-selling album of 2024 on the Billboard 200.

The Life of a Showgirl comes after Swift’s Eras Tour, an 18-month global run with more than 150 dates. The tour included three sold-out nights at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium in June 2024.
