Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Ariana Grande to headline Coachella 2019
The Californian festival will also feature The 1975, Janelle Monáe, Christine and the Queens
The festival is set to take place in Indio April 12-14 and 19-21. The opening night will be headlined by Childish Gambino. The multi-talented rapper, singer, writer, actor topped the Hot Press Songs of the year 2018 with his track ‘This is America’.
On Saturday night, Australian psych-rock band Tame Impala will headline. Following the announcement, the band took to Twitter promising: “New year. New shows. New sounds.” A strong indication a follow-up album to the highly successful Currents, could be released this year.

Ariana Grande will close out the festival. The pop star has had a tumultuous year, the Manchester arena attack, the death of ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, and split from fiancé Pete Davidson.
Irish singer, Dermot Kennedy is also on the bill. He tweeted: “I’M PLAYING COACHELLA! This is surreal. A dream come true. See you soon, California!”
