Chappell Roan announces new single ‘The Subway’

Chappell Roan has taken to social media to announce the release of her next single ‘The Subway’.

The release comes over a year after Roan first performed the song in New York dressed as Lady Liberty.

According to the singer, “this song encompasses everything I love about New York City - with the hope, heartbreak and healing that it has to offer us all.”

The announcement comes a month ahead of Roan’s Electric Picnic debut, where she will take to the stage at Stradbally on Friday August 29. Hozier will also be headlining on that same day.

Last year, Roan’s debut album, The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess was crowned No.1 on Ireland’s Official Albums Chart, her first No.1 album anywhere in the world.

Her hit single ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ also claimed the top spot on both the Official Irish Singles Chart and the Irish Airplay Chart.
