Camogie Lovers win JD Set
Dublin duo Camogie Lovers emerged victorious from a hotly contested JD Set final last night in Crawdaddy.
The band beat off stiff competition from The Chapman Society, The People, Floyd Soul and the Wolf and The Red Labels.
The band, comprising Conall Ó Breachain and John Duignan, impressed the judging panel of ex-Strangler Hugh Cornwell, Phantom FM's Michelle Doherty, JD's Adam Murphy and Hot Press' Roisin Dwyer and the final decision was unanimous.
As winners of The JD Set 2009, the Camogie Lovers will receive advice from Hugh Cornwell, studio time in Grouse Lodge Studios, a support slot at a JD Set gig in Belfast in May 2009, band photography and live video performance and PR advice.
Previous winners of The JD Set include The Coronas, who won the competition in 2005 and The Chakras, who were joint winners in 2006.
