The JD Set is back with another great cache of prizes including the chance to be mentored by Stranglers legend Hugh Cornwell.
The demo call is on for The JD Set 2009, which gives unsigned acts the opportunity to get a mentoring session with former Stranglers singer Hugh Cornwell and other industry big cheeses, a professional photo session, studio time in Grouse Lodge and a support slot at a high profile JD Set gig next year in Belfast.
30 bands will be chosen in January to play at the following regional heats:
February 19 & 20 – Crawdaddy, Dublin
February 26 & 27 – The Old Oak, Cork
March 5 & 6 – The Kaz Bar, Waterford
March 19 & 20 – Trinity Rooms, Limerick
March 26 & 27 – The Quays, Galway
Crawdaddy is the venue again on April 23 for the Grand Final, which will be attended by all manner of movers ‘n’ shakers. The JD Set has an excellent pedigree, with former winners including The Coronas and The Chakras.
