The mini-series will focus on The Vatican.

The project will be directed by Ridley Scott, with Oscar-nominated Paul Attanasio overseeing the writing.
Gallagher reveals in 'Short & Tweet': "I’m doing a pilot for Showtime with Ridley Scott. It’s about The Vatican. Hopefully it gets commissioned. Bruno Ganz plays the Pope. Kyle Chandler plays one of the cardinals. Anna Friel is in it too. It’s great."
Talking about balancing music and acting, the Commitments star says: "It’s just about allocating time to each one, and staying proactive in order to keep each one buoyant."
