Untame: “Bring Me Down” (Phony)

Unbelievably formulaic grunge from home-grown outfit. When I was fourteen, I used to write lyrics like this: “I hear the voices inside of me/Please set me down, please set me free/I hear the voices that scream and shout/I hear the voice that brings me down.” This stuff isn’t cathartic, it just sounds like the paranoid whingings of an adolescent who can’t handle his first joint. Influences: Nirvana, Nirvana and, uh, Nirvana.
