Bricknasty share video for ‘vinland’ as they release new mixtape
Their song ‘vinland’ has dropped alongside an audacious new music video.
Dublin collective Bricknasty have shared new video to their track ‘vinland’, paired with the release of their mixtape XONGZ አስቀያሚ ጡብ.
The group announced its release on Instagram this morning, “vinland video on YouTube now, we'll say nothing here bar thank u to all involved”, letting their video speak for itself and thanking an extensive list of contributors.
The video uses stop motion animation and AI to create wonderfully weird visuals. Featuring a protagonist and his journey of discovering the modelling clay he is using has a life of its own. Brilliant but bizarre.
The video is directed by Irish filmmaker Hugh Mulhern. The artist has collaborated with various Irish bands in the past including Fontaines D.C. with their music video for 'Jackie Down the Line'.
XONGZ አስቀያሚ ጡብ, released under indie label FAMM, features Dublin artist Aby Coulibaly and experimental soul musician Oscar Jerome.
Featuring nine songs the mixtape deviates from neo-soul to R&B to heartfelt passages of reflective conversation. Covering topics such as loss, grief and finding yourself.
Bricknasty will be supporting Nas on his Illmatic 30 Year Anniversary Tour in the 3Olympia on November 13. Before headlining The Academy on December 19.
