Bricknasty announce departure of band members Louis Younge and Dara Abdurahman
Their final gig with bandmates Dara and Louis will be at All Together Now, this weekend
Bricknasty have announced the departure of two band members, sax/keys player Louis Younge and bassist Dara Abdurahman.
The band took to Instagram to share the news:
"Some of ye may already know this, but the two of us have made the decision to step away from the Bricknasty setup," read the statement from Younge and Abdurahman.
"This Friday's set at All Together Now will be our last gig with the lads. The last number of years has been incredible, and has brought us to places we couldn't have imagined. The lads are on the way to great things, and there are two world class musicians taking up the mantle. As much as we'll miss playing for you, we'll be there will you in the crowd the whole way."
They finished the statement in Irish, "Bricknasty go deo, Éirinn go brách, saoirse don Phalaistín agus grá daoibhse go léir."
The band are yet to announce who will be replacing Abdurahman and Younge.
Bricknasty emerged in Ballymum in 2020, as a lockdown project. They released their latest single earlier this month 'go get that blade' following their 2024 mixtape XONGZ አስቀያሚ ጡብ, blending together R&B, soul and jazz.
They have recently announced their biggest headline show at Dublin's 3Olympia, alongside tour dates in the UK and Europe.
The band will play the Something Kind Of Wonderful stage at All Together Now, this Friday, from 6-7pm.
