Bono shares surprise new song in the midst of coronavirus lockdown
The U2 frontman shared a performance of 'Let Your Love Be Known' from his home in Ireland.
Amid increased coronavirus fears and event cancellations on St. Patrick's Day, Bono shared an inspiring new piano ballad, 'Let Your Love Be Known'.
Taking to U2's Instagram account, he shared a raw clip of the new song: "For the Italians who inspired it...for the Irish... for ANYONE who this St. Patrick's day is in a tight spot and still singing. For the doctors, nurses, carers on the frontline, it's you we're singing to."
In the clip, broadcast from his home in Ireland, Bono introduces 'Let Your Love Be Known' as "a little postcard from bubblin' Dublin", and noted that he "made up [the song] about an hour ago".
The lyrics include further references to his home city: "Yes, there was silence. Yes, there was no people here/ Yes, I walked through the streets of Dublin, and no one was near."
