Bon Iver release new track 'PDLIF' in support of healthcare workers
The track is a beacon of hope and strength, with proceeds supporting healthcare workers during the coronavirus pandemic.
Bon Iver, spearheaded by Justin Vernon, have released a new single titled 'PDLIF', an abbreviation for 'Please Don't Live In Fear.' All streaming proceeds will go to Direct Relief, an organisation offering support to healthcare workers and patients as during the coronavirus pandemic.
The song serves as a beacon of hope and strength, as Vernon sings 'while I'm not gonna tell you that everyone's safe, I will say, there will be a better day'. Featuring vocals from Kacy Hill, string arrangements from Rob Moose and production form Vernon, Jim-E Stack, and BJ Burton, 'PDLIF' captures the dreamy essence of a Bon Iver song with its blend of electronic production, vocalisers and heartfelt piano. Samples from Alabaster DePlume’s “Visit Croatia” are delicately woven throughout.
It's Bon Iver's first single since the release of his wonderful genre-bending album i,i last summer, which earned high acclaim from Hot Press. Listen to 'PDLIF' below.
