Bob Dylan tribute act Bringing Dylan Home announce Dublin show
Bringing Dylan Home will perform at Whelan's on Saturday, October 10. Tickets are available now.
Irish musician Paul Kirwan has announced a performance of his Bob Dylan tribute show at Whelan's in Dublin on October 10.
The show comes ahead of Dylan's upcoming Irish shows this November. Dylan is set to play in Belfast, Killarney and Dublin as part of his Rough and Rowdy Ways tour.
Bringing Dylan Home premiered earlier this year in Co. Wexford. The show features classics such as 'Mr Tambourine Man', 'Blowin' In The Wind' and 'Like A Rolling Stone', as well as newer tracks from Dylan's 2020 album Rough and Rowdy Ways.
"Dylan’s most recent album has a song called 'I Contain Multitudes' and it's as self-revelatory as we're likely to get from the permanently shape-shifting Dylan," Kirwan said.
"I felt inspired to explore one of those multitudes and that's what my show is all about. I'm looking forward to recreating that character and bringing him back to the renowned discerning audience at Whelan's."
Kirwan will be joined by backing vocalist Emmylou Baez and violinist Gráinne Noone. Noone will take the role of Irish-Italian violinist Scarlet Rivera, who toured and recorded music with Dylan.
Kirwan is known for his tributes to iconic singers such as Johnny Cash and Neil Young. The Wexford-born singer and guitarist was previously a member of several Irish bands, during which he supported Counting Crows in New York City.
Bringing Dylan Home will perform at Whelan's in Dublin on Saturday, October 10 at 8:00 p.m.. Tickets are available online via the Whelan's website.
