Blue Touches Blue
With her enchanting melodies, haunting midnight acoustics and stunning voice, it's no surprise that Noa is an international star.
With her enchanting melodies, haunting midnight acoustics and stunning voice, it's no surprise that Noa is an international star. A native of Israel, she has toured with both Sting and Santana, and is the voice behind the theme tune to Roberto Benigni's movie Life Is Beautiful.
With this, her third studio album, she's looking to fill a niche in Ireland and Britain. Blue Touches Blue is a brilliant collection of light, simple, pure songs led by a single voice and complimented by picked acoustic/classical guitars. She uses soft piano tracks to enhance the melody and alternative sounds through Israeli instrumentation.
'Explain the Night' is a subtly dramatic song. Light reverbs and intricate piano tracks set the mood for the dynamic yet hushed melodies.
Elsewhere, the sound is reminiscent of a mellowed-out Fiona Apple with a heavy dose of melancholic romanticism.
With such a wide European fanbase already well established, Blue Touches Blue is Noa's strongest hope to crack the market in these islands: but with an album like this, I don't think she has too much to worry about.
