Black Rooster EP

A pretty, carefully mussed-up boy/girl duo bring us dark pouty rock kicks in the popular fashion – i.e. garage-y punk-rock – the girl in Kim Deal/Patti Smyth mode, the boy with restrained Jon Spencer blues, on ‘Cat Claw’ and Black Rooster’ respectively. ‘Wait’ is a slower country drawl, while a live version of Captain Beefheart’s ‘Dropout Boogie’ gets the blood rushing to the right places.
