Beat 102-103 joins PLAY IRISH initiative
Station joins action to support local artists...
Beat 102-103 is to become the first regional station to work with the Irish Association of Songwriters, Composers & Authors on the PLAY IRISH initiative.
The official unveiling will take place on Tuesday March 20 during Niall Power’s Beat Breakfast show.
“There’s amazing music coming out of Ireland right now,” enthuses IASCA’s Sinéad Troy who presented her case very eloquently recently at The Music Show. “Radio is the best medium for artists to reach people. PLAY IRISH and our partner stations allow this to happen. The reaction in Galway, where we launched the project, was amazing.”
The scheme already has the support of The Forum in Waterford and Kilkenny’s Hub and SET Theatre venues, Heartbeat City Records, which has stores in Waterford and Carlow and HMV in Kilkenny.
