Beastie Boys' Mike D joins Beyond the Pale line-up
This will be his first appearance in Ireland since Electric Picnic 2007.
Mike D, founding member, vocalist, and drummer of the Beastie Boys, is joining the Sunday line-up of the Beyond the Pale festival, taking place in Wicklow's Glendalough Estate from June 12-14.
Michael Louis Diamond, known as Mike D, is returning to Ireland for the first time in nearly two decades.
The Beastie Boys effectively disbanded in May 2012 following the death of founding member Adam "MCA" Yauch. Remaining members Mike D and Ad-Rock confirmed that they would not continue to perform without him.
Following the end of the Beastie Boys, he has since collaborated with artists such as the French synthpop duo Cassius for their 2016 album Ibifornia, as well as producing Take Control for the English punk duo Soft Play in the same year.
He will be accompanied by a six-piece band for his performance, and will join other acts that day such as Caribou, Father John Misty, Primal Scream, and Of Monsters and Men.
Tickets are available here.
