Beastie Boys' Mike D announces debut solo album
Latest single 'True Colors' out now
Beastie Boys member Mike D has announced his debut solo album, Thank You, due for release on August 28. The album’s latest single, ‘True Colors’, is available now.
“Excited to share. So much to say, but I’ll try to keep it short. There is so much joy that went into making this project”, says Mike D on his social media.
“All my collaborators and all the time and journeys and detours and rabbit holes that we went down while creating this. Alot of the time we were just in it, making stuff and not thinking about it coming out or possible outcomes and now here it is.”
“So thank you to everybody who participated with me. Been so fun growing what we are doing with our live shows too. To be continued”, he ends.
Mike D has been performing some of the unreleased material during recent UK shows with Mike D 5D, a group that includes two of his sons. Thank You marks the first full-length release from a Beastie Boys member in 15 years.
