BBC Radiophonic Workshop make Belfast bow
The composer-y treats keep on coming with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop heading out on their first ever live tour, which includes a March 26 stop-off in MAC, Belfast.
Joined for the occasion by ex-Prodigy drummer Kieron Pepper, the line-up is lead by Dr. Dick Mills who set the Workshop up in 1963 with his late colleague Delia Derbyshire.
One of their first commissions was the theme tune to a new sci-fi series called Doctor Who. Always at the forefront of technology and sound design, they’ve since been hailed as the Godfathers of Electronica by the likes of The Orb and Orbital who’ve routinely sampled their work.
