Award-Winning Film Composer, Jóhann Jóhannsson Has Unexpectedly Died
The Icelandic musician, who was best known for his scores for the films 'Arrival', 'Prisoners' and 'The Theory of Everything', has died at the relatively young age of 48.
Jóhannsson was found dead in his Berlin apartment on 9 February. The cause of death is still unknown.
Born and raised in Reykjavík, Jóhann Jóhannsson packed eight solo albums and ten film soundtracks into his short career.
He also composed soundtracks for 'Sicario', 'The Miners' Hymns' and 'I Am Here'.
He scored music for 'Blade Runner 2049' but it was "rejected" and the film studio turned to a score by Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch.
Back in December, he announced on his website that he was going to score Panos Cosmatos’ ‘Mandy’ starring Nicolas Cage.
