Archive Artist of the Fortnight: Divine Comedy
hotpress.com's archive artist of the fortnight....
Neil Hannon WAS the Divine Comedy back then (three-piece suits; insanely brainy chamber-pop; critical acclaim); he WAS the Divine Comedy still even when they were a "they" (multiple hypereducated instrumentalists; alarming photographs in the UK music press; expensive producers) and he IS the Divine Comedy now (solo once more; back to basics; sporting street clothes and overlong hair). It'll be great to see and hear the signular Mr Hannon again, and this week we get our chance when he plays the Olympia with Ben Folds (also recently diminished back to one man). New tunes, deliciously, await.
