Malian world music duo Amadou & Mariam have just confirmed that they will perform a gig in Vicar St in March 2009.

The soulful twosome will be performing tracks from their new album Welcome To Mali, which was released last month and features contributions from Damon Albarn and Somalian rapper K'Naan.

The pair have also been invited to perform at Barack Obama's presidential inauguration in January.

Amadou & Mariam come to Vicar St on March 1. Tickets, €27 go on sale on Monday, December 15 from the usual outlets.
